On this tour, explore some of the most famous sights in the north of this glorious subcontinent, including Agra, Delhi, and Shimla, travelling between all of these wonderful cities on board railways that showcase India’s history as well as its plentiful charm and beauty. Itinerary

Days 1-2

To Delhi

We depart London Heathrow on our flight to Delhi, arriving on Day 2. Delhi is one of India’s most colourful and exciting metropolises, where the old and new cities exist harmoniously together. We spend the night at our 5-star hotel

Days 3-5

By Train To Shimla

Today, we board the Shatabdi Express to Kalka, then take the UNESCO-listed Shivalik Express on to Shimla, a journey which can also be taken by car. We begin Day 4 with a talk by guest speaker Raaja Bhasin, then take a sightseeing tour. On Day 5, you are at leisure to explore.

Days 6-7

Exploring Old and New Delhi

We depart Shimla and return to Delhi today. On Day 7, we visit Old Delhi, taking a rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Delhi’s bazaar. We also see the beautiful Raj Ghat, Qutab Minar, and the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque.

Days 8-9

Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri

This morning, we join the Gatimaan Express to Agra. Here, we visit Agra’s imposing Red Fort. Later, we travel to the Taj Mahal, one of the finest examples of Mughal and Persian architecture. On Day 9, we depart Agra, visiting the beautiful Fatehpur Sikri on our way to Jaipur.

Days 10-11

Jaipur and the Amber Fort

We begin our stay in the ‘Pink City’ with an exciting sightseeing tour, visiting the Astronomical Observatory and the City Palace. On Day 11, we visit the Amber Fort, and continue our explorations of Jaipur, driving past the incredible Palace of the Winds.

Days 12-13

Return to Delhi and home

Today we drive back to Delhi, where we spend our final evening. On Day 13, we transfer to the airport for our flight to London arriving late in the early evening.
